I've got my heart set on anywhere but here
13 October 2009 @ 05:48 pm
Had my final quiz for the semester today! I officially do not have anymore assessments. Whee! On the other hand, 2 weeks and a little more to my finals. Somewhat screwed, but not as much as last semester. So hopefully I'll do better.

Going for Oktoberfest at uni on Thursday, which is after the AGM for the ASOC society. Should be a good day. And Liverpool are playing this weekend as well, I missed them last week. International football can be quite a drag.

I have been having quiz after assignment after quiz this past 2 weeks but for some reason I decided I needed a bigger workload and ran for the post of publisher for my uni's Malaysian Student Org. I have no idea what the hell I was thinking.

Okay, thinking positive thoughts. I can do this! I can and I will because it will look good on my transcript and because it WILL be fun.

Ok, back to uni stuff. I have an awesome line-up all the way to my finals. I have a quiz on Tuesday which I haven't started studying for. I spent yesterday preparing for my speech and meeting and today morning and lunch was spent with my friend cause it's her birthday. Tomorrow I have this festival called MFest which is like the biggest Malaysian Festival in Sydney or something. I have to go and be social and then come home early to mug and mug. Then I've got classes again on Monday and dinner with a friend and his friends then Tuesday is my quiz.

^^; I need to develop some time management skills asap.

I also need a home-cooked meal soon cause I have been eating out practically the entire week.

I come bearing more trailers. This time it's for the new HBO mini-series The Pacific which is set to premiere next year. It's another Spielberg/Hanks collaboration and looks to be about as epic as Band of Brothers was. I can't wait ^_^

So, I was checking out Shane Taylor's imdb page and saw that he'd completed a movie that was set to open this year. Sadly it's an indie flick and thus I have to wait till it finds a distributor if I have any intention of seeing it. Shane Taylor played the medic Eugene Roe on Band of Brothers for those who are curious. Check out the adorable trailer ^_^

Also, I bought the Band of Brothers book by Stephen Ambrose but I'm only planning on reading it when I transit in Brisbane in November ^_^ I have a really long transit.

I haven't watched Band of Brothers in awhile, well since it first aired back home actually which was almost 6 years ago. So seeing as it's the holidays and I have been keeping up-to-date with my readings and what not I decided a little BoB was in order. After having spent the last 2 days watching all 10 episodes and then today rewatching, Bastogne, Carentan and The Breaking Point I have so much love for all those boys and so much hate at the atrocities that they experienced and bore witness to.

I think what really sucked about watching BoB was knowing that these were real men and those were real experiences. Something I had the good fortune to not have known when I watched it the first time. But god that really sucked. Still, I recommend it to each and everyone of you out there reading this. Just bring along some tissue.

In other news, I've been iconing again, and I'm actually pretty happy with the results this time around. I've been inspired by BoB and Bleach to make some really pretty icons, that I'm hoping I'll be able to post up by Monday. Also I managed to send in submissions for the [info]bleach_icontest and [info]jensenstillness icontests, something I haven't had the time for recently.

Last thing left on my to do list, as always of course, is to study. Have 2 quizzes when I get back to uni after the break, the week after I have one quiz and one assignment due and the week following that I have another quiz and yet another assignment, this one an individual one involving some stupid program I just can't seem to figure out. So all in all it's gonna be pretty hectic from here on out.

God I can't wait to go home.

Happy Birthday Chelle!!!

Can't be there to celebrate with you. So sad, nevermind we'll go and celebrate all the missed birthdays when I'm back yea? Go and makan at that new seafood restaurant you were telling me about. ^_^ Hope you have a wonderful birthday, babe. Miss you guys!

In other news, OMG I can't believe I've finished Week 4 of uni already. Shit I've only got another 2 more months, roughly 8 weeks more till my finals. That's so fast, it feels like I just started my new semester. Where does the time go?

Just finished 2 quizzes this week and I have another 2 quizzes next week, which I should really be studying for right now. In a minute, let's see what else have I been upto? Oh, yeah, football season is starting. WooHoo! First up, is Tottenham vs Liverpool. Match is on Sunday night, so I'll have to study up before that so I don't feel guilty about spending 2 hours in front of the TV.

I've missed watching my boys play. My mum and brother went down to Singapore end of last month to watch them play against the Singaporean National Team. Unfair I tells you. Although apparently the meet & greet was the day before which they missed but still they got to see them play live. It's too bad the guys didn't come over to Aus. I've would have paid good money to see them. One day!! Hopefully before Stevie G retires.

I'm also patiently waiting for September and the return of all my TV shows. I've gotten hooked on NCIS during the holidays and damn them they left us with a cliffhanger at the end of Season 6. Dying to know what happens next. Come on, September.

So I just finished my first week of classes in the new sem. It wasn't actually a full week of classes cause tutorials only start next week. Still my timetable is crap for someone only doing one degree. I have classes four days a week and my Tuesday is packed with classes from 9-5. Torture I tells you! And my lecturer for the 9 o'clock class is soo boring and she can't even speak proper English which annoys the hell out of me. I'm paying over 3000 Australian Dollars for this class, come on give me a proper lecturer damnit.

On the other hand, another 4 months and I'll be able to go home again. God I miss home! Foooooddd....... how I miss Malaysian food. 4 months left!

So I was over at FF.net again when I stumbled across this little treasure while reading someone's profile. Thought I'd post and share because it's funny and I love sharing funny stuff. Enjoy!!
